No-Till & Regenerative Gardening Workshop
Hosted at Just Food Community Farm, Cole and Karen gave an informative workshop on no-till and regenerative gardening practices. The Tiny Home Show comes to Ottawa
The Tiny Home Show made its first appearance in Ottawa and The Good Shit was be there as a vendor and workshop facilitator. The show supported our Sponsor a Garden program. We also made tons of new friends and had so much fun!
Tiny free seed library workshop
We spent a wonderful afternoon at the Just Food Community Farm building own little free seed libraries with workshop participants. If you would like to host a seed library on your lawn toย allow community members to borrow and get access to seeds, check out the Ottawa Seed Library network.
You can purchase your own seed library here.
Susan 2 steals the show at Growing Green Sustainability Fair
We were honoured to be a vendor at Rockland's first gardening and sustainability fair in support of its community garden. Susan 2, our Hen-gagement specialist, came along and made many new friends. It's not every day you see a fancy chicken running a vendor booth!
Ottawa's 'Seedy Saturday' a huge success
This was our second year as a vendor at Seedy Saturday and we had a blast! Not to mention the turn out of about 1600 people was phenomenal. It was so fun to reunite with returning customers and to meet new ones! You can learn more about seed saving and Seedy Saturday events across Canada here.
The Good Shit wins top pitch at CSED Social Enterprise competition
After participating in Social Enterprise Bootcamp at the Centre for Social Enterprise Development (CSED), The Good Shit was awarded "Top Pitch" at Pitch Day 2023. The award included a cash prize and free consulting from CSED to help with business development. It was a wonderful experience and Steven (the rooster) and Cole met so many amazing people (and learned a whole lot). Thank you CSED!
